This will be quite a long post - so please stick with me… A few months ago, some of my closest friends and family wrapped up The 47 Foundation's inaugural fundraiser, the Mile by Mile Marathon. After spending some time getting everything in order after the race, I'm excited to announce that?we've officially delivered over $40,000 to the St. Louis Peregrine Society?to support their efforts in providing resources and access to care for local cancer patients. They've graciously used this money to open an endowment fund in the name of Dru Anne Lindo - my mother's best friend and my sister's godmother - who passed away in the fall of 2022. This will allow us to directly track the impact that the funds raised have had in the St. Louis cancer community. This has been one of the most emotional and rewarding experiences of my life, and I'd like to specifically thank a few people: Dru Anne, Yari Lindo, and your families: I’m so appreciative of your support through this process. Being able to do this is the closest I’ve ever felt to Dru, and for that, I’m endlessly thankful. Emma, Jeff, and Lynne Binder: I simply will never be able to thank you enough, but please know how grateful I am to call you my family. Thank you for everything. Cam Oliver, CPA: This could have never happened without you. You’re one of the best guys I know, and doing this with such a great friend has made the experience that much better. Shari Cunningham: Once Cam and I met you, we knew immediately that whatever we raised would be best placed with you and the St. Louis Peregrine Society. Thank you for all that you do, and all you have done for us. To those who ran, fundraised, and donated: This campaign ended up reaching countless states, had dozens of runners, and some unthinkably generous donations. The communities we’ve tapped into, and the community we ultimately built around this race is a direct reflection of the amazing people involved. Thank you all so much for making this first fundraiser such a success. This whole journey has been an effort to honor our loved ones we’ve lost and to support those currently fighting.
