We’re thrilled to announce that over 250,000 guests have visited Thanksgiving Point through the Every Kid Counts Admission program! Thanks to our partnership with Museums for All, we’re able to offer free and reduced admission to families with an EBT card. This milestone is a testament to our commitment to making hands-on science learning accessible to all children. Our Every Kid Counts initiative, with its three pillars—Admission, Outreach, and Nonprofit Partnerships—continues to touch the lives of economically disadvantaged kids in Utah. BusinessQ is 20 years old, and guess whose face was on the first cover? Alan Ashton, the Godfather of Silicon Slopes and purveyor of family philanthropy, jump-started our run of creator covers. Alan and Karen Ashton have been key figures in the heart and soul of Utah Valley. From Alan’s work at WordPerfect Corporation to Karen’s growth of the Timpanogos Storytelling to their shared interest and efforts at Thanksgiving Point, the Ashtons are unofficial ambassadors for all things Utah Valley. It’s fitting then — and not by accident — that Alan was the first face to grace the cover of Utah Valley BusinessQ in 2003. (Karen was on the inaugural cover of sister publication Utah Valley Magazine three years earlier.)
