The THANK YOU PROJECT (TYP) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that is changing the lives of people in rural Nigeria by providing clean drinking water as well as educational opportunities for those who cannot afford them. As of 2024, the TYP has raised ~$250,000 and built 6 water wells as well as maintain them (unlike other charities). The TYP was started in 2013 and continues building water wells serving people in the Ututu and Achi areas of Nigeria. The cost of one water well is ~$35,000 + $720 annually ($60/month) in maintenance costs. Water Well number 7 is being constructed now. The TYP has also provided the necessary scholarships for two students to attend college in Nigeria. The scholarship fund covers the cost of university tuition (only $2,000 per year). Every September, the TYP holds its annual “WATER WALK”. The Water Walk will be an event to bring focus to the need for drinking water in parts of this world where it is needed. The goal is to raise awareness and funds to help solve this problem. The Water Walk entails a short 2 mile walk (in total) where participants traveling down to a nearby river with EMPTY water containers (buckets, gallon jugs). Participants will then fill their container and carry the water back in order to simulate, in a very small way, what other people less fortunate have to go through on a daily basis. We take running water for granted and the Water Walk will help people realize how blessed we are and how we can help the less privileged in areas far from where we live. The Water Walk is the TYP’s main fundraising event and your help is critical to our success. We need your support. The TYP’s annual Water Walk takes place Sat. Sept. 14 at Greeley Park, Nashua NH from 8:30am to 12 noon. Help us bring clean water to those in need.?DID YOU KNOW- 63 million people (3 in 10) in Nigeria lack access to clean water. 115 people in Africa die every hour from diseases linked to contaminated water. The TYP would like to change this. The effort of gathering water takes away from the ability of children to focus on school & the cycle continues. By providing clean water wells, the TYP gives a long term solution to those affected by the lack of drinking water. ? To date, the TYP has built six water wells to date [at a cost of $35,000/well + $720 annually ($60/month) in maintenance costs FOR EACH WELL]. The wells are powered by solar energy & have changed the lives of thousands.
