Prefabrication is central to our team’s innovative approach at FM's new #ShawmutBuilt facility in Norwood, MA—a state-of-the-art, 320,000-square-foot complex designed for next-generation research and development. An example of this approach is the building’s mechanical systems: through more than 70 precisely coordinated crane picks, our team is installing prefabricated air handling units, electrical conduit, geothermal piping, and other essential components that support the facility’s advanced research capabilities. This controlled process ensures rigorous quality assurance, minimizes rework, and reduces material waste, resulting in a faster, safer, and more predictable build with minimal onsite disruptions. This process reflects the meticulous preplanning and collaboration of our team and subcontractor partners—including TG Gallagher, Worcester Air, Bosco Crane, and Gaston Electrical—whose expertise has been instrumental in executing the installation.

TG Gallagher has recently upgraded the heating system at Magical Moon Farm & Foundation. When their existing system began to fail, our team stepped in, donating labor and equipment to restore warmth and comfort to their building. This project was made possible by the generosity of several contributors: Metropolitan Pipe & Supply Co, who provided the heating and hot water equipment piping, and fittings; Patriot Light and Power, who donated electrical and control systems; CommTank, Inc., who removed the oil tank; and Select Demo Services, LLC, who supplied a dumpster for the demolition. Magical Moon Farm & Foundation is an organization that is dedicated to supporting children facing cancer and other serious health challenges. Through programs like art therapy, gardening, and animal care, the foundation creates a healing space that helps these children tap into their inner strength and a sense of purpose as they go through their treatments. We are grateful to contribute to such a meaningful cause and to join forces with others dedicated to making a difference.
