Our scientists study a patient’s DNA blueprint to find the causes of cancer and develop smarter treatments for it.
关于我们
TGen, a part of City of Hope, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on developing earlier diagnostics and smarter treatments. Translational genomics research is a relatively new field employing innovative advances arising from the Human Genome Project and applying them to the development of diagnostics and treatments for cancer, neurological disorders, rare childhood disorders, infectious disease and other complex conditions. "This is a pretty significant jump, having this modularity. You can start to add a lot of capabilities at one time into one run," Nicholas Banovich, a researcher at the TGen - Part of City of Hope who is looking to adopt #AVITI24, told GenomeWeb. "You have a workflow where you have 300 cycles, and you can plug and play these different capabilities in there, adding modules in until you get to the cycle maximum." Our Innovation Roadmap for AVITI24? was recently?highlighted in GenomeWeb. It is inspiring to see how initial users are beginning to utilize our first-of-its-kind #multiomics platform. We look forward to seeing how the scientific community continues to apply and innovate with AVITI24! Read the full article: https://bit.ly/4iHYjDl #ElemBio?#Genomics

TGen's Nicholas Banovich recently presented at the AGBT Gold Sponsor Workshop on Illumina's spatial technology. Using spatial transcriptomics has allowed TGen to expand our research to identify better and localize changes in cells, particularly in pulmonary fibrosis studies.
Yesterday at our AGBT Gold Sponsor Workshop, customers joined us on stage to share early data and insights from one of our latest innovations: Illumina spatial technology. They shared how the differentiated scale and resolution of this technology is already driving new insights: "Our early analyses with this technology identified and localized molecular dysregulation associated with active epithelial cell remodeling in pulmonary fibrosis. We believe this will aid in identifying therapeutic targets which can be used to stop or slow the progression of disease."?-?Nicholas Banovich, PhD, at TGen - Part of City of Hope "With this new technology we were able to profile millions of cells on just two substrates and found biomarkers that are not included in targeted approaches." -?Jasmine Plummer, PhD, at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital "Large-scale and unbiased whole-transcriptome capture are the ideal components of a discovery platform capable of finding novel marker genes and simultaneously validating them across multiple tissue sections within a single experiment."?-?Michal Lipinski, PhD, at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard Missed the Gold Sponsor workshop? Congratulations to Kimberly Olney, PhD for taking home the title at PacBio's SMRT Pitch – Rockies Edition! ?? ?? Her groundbreaking research on Alzheimer’s and Lewy body dementia earned her up to $75K in sequencing resources to study how gene isoform changes impact these diseases. This work could help improve diagnosis and treatment for millions affected by dementia.
