Our scientists study a patient’s DNA blueprint to find the causes of cancer and develop smarter treatments for it.
关于我们
TGen, a part of City of Hope, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on developing earlier diagnostics and smarter treatments. Translational genomics research is a relatively new field employing innovative advances arising from the Human Genome Project and applying them to the development of diagnostics and treatments for cancer, neurological disorders, rare childhood disorders, infectious disease and other complex conditions. Tomorrow, 3/14 at 12PM CT – our Frontiers of BrainHealth topic is Precision Aging. Join us online. Precision Medicine in oncology has shown that delivering the right treatment to the right patient at the right time can significantly improve outcomes while minimizing adverse events and side effects. Inspired by this success, Dr. Huentelman's team at TGen - Part of City of Hope is applying Precision Medicine principles to the aging brain, aiming to align cognitive healthspan with lifespan and improve the prediction and prevention of age-related cognitive diseases, terming this approach "Precision Aging." Discussing experimental platforms, Dr. Huentelman will explore their strengths, limitations and how integrating their datasets has led to novel discoveries. Together, these approaches are shaping our vision for Precision Aging and advancing understanding of the aging brain. Register from this link https://lnkd.in/eHAiD7h5

Ever wondered if there was a way to know if an individual would accept or reject a transplant organ? This is exactly what TGen research Nicholas Banovich did in a recent study. In this preprint they used spatial transcriptomics to study heart transplant rejection. Check out the story from GenomeWeb about this work and the preprint! https://lnkd.in/gCCirV9B

"This is a pretty significant jump, having this modularity. You can start to add a lot of capabilities at one time into one run," Nicholas Banovich, a researcher at the TGen - Part of City of Hope who is looking to adopt #AVITI24, told GenomeWeb. "You have a workflow where you have 300 cycles, and you can plug and play these different capabilities in there, adding modules in until you get to the cycle maximum." Our Innovation Roadmap for AVITI24? was recently?highlighted in GenomeWeb. It is inspiring to see how initial users are beginning to utilize our first-of-its-kind #multiomics platform. We look forward to seeing how the scientific community continues to apply and innovate with AVITI24! Read the full article: https://bit.ly/4iHYjDl #ElemBio?#Genomics
