With the news that the UK government plans to increase defence spending to 2.5% of GDP by 2027 (coupled with recent developments in the US) this might just be a great time for non-traditional defence suppliers to start thinking about selling to UK MoD. Winning defence contracts can be a lottery even if you have the best product. Terminology alone can be a minefield. Unlike other sectors, your product will be judged on its design AND the cost of keeping it working over a long time and in interesting conditions. We want to work with small, innovative suppliers... Your product will get you into the lottery. Proving that your product will perform for its (likely) long life will stack the odds in your favour...that’s where we come in. #DefenceOpportunities #MoDProcurement #ProcurementSolutions #DefenceIndustry #UKDefence #ProcurementSupport #MoDPartnerships #DefenceSectors #GovernmentProcurement #BusinessOpportunities #DefenceProcurementSolutions #NonTraditionalSuppliers #DefenceMarketAccess #integratedsupport #integratedlogisticsupport #integratedlifecyclesupport #integratedproductsupport #ils #ips #supportanalysis #logisticsupportanalysis #lifecyclesupportanalysis #lsa #productsupportanalysis #psa

???? ???????? ???????????????????????? ?????????????????????? ???? ????????????-?????????? ?????????????????? ????????????????? ? ? Is your support solution likely to change as the system matures or is deployed within multiple organisations. ?? Will your operational usage or fleet composition change over time due to fleet expansion, re-basing, re-role, or run-down? ??? Is your equipment design likely to evolve over time because of obsolescence, modifications, upgrades, or reliability improvement programs? ???? Have you considered the need to minimise wasted investment in stock with a limited usable life? ???? ?????? ???????? ???????????????????? ???? ???????????? ?????????????????? ?????????????????? ???????????????????? ????: -Fleet build-up and run-down -Obsolescence and technology updates -The impact of reliability improvements -Planning for aging systems -Long lead-time versus short lead-time purchases -PBL incentive schemes with complex metrics -Future program changes like Ao targets, operating hours, and basing? Inventory planning is a complex discipline that requires sophisticated algorithms to ensure the right inventory is acquired and stored in the right place. Traditionally, spares optimisation tools have operated under steady-state assumptions, where scenarios remain unchanged indefinitely. ???? ??????????????, ?????? ?????????????????? ???????????? ??????????????, as basing, activity levels, support structures, and system configurations change throughout the life of the programme. Using steady-state analysis tools to accommodate these changes is cumbersome, as it requires chaining multiple runs, each optimising a static scenario without considering future changes. This approach is ????????-??????????????????, ??????????-??????????, ?????? ?????????????? ?????????????? ???? ??????-?????????????? ??????????????????. Simulation doesn't solve the issue either, as it can only evaluate solutions already determined by analysis. The TFD Global 'Tempo' Tool, revolutionises spares optimisation by accounting for the economic impact of time on inventory decisions. Developed from the successful VMetric optimisation engine, Tempo considers both predictable hardware changes and foreseeable shifts in operating and support scenarios. It’s the first and only tool designed to develop optimal spares scales that meet fleet availability targets while factoring in operational usage changes, fleet disposition adjustments, re-basing, re-role, run-down, equipment design shifts (like obsolescence or upgrades), and evolving support arrangements (including maintenance, repair policies, contractors, performance, and price). If you'd like to know more, please comment on this post or contact TFD Global and one of the team will respond to your query. https://tfdg.com/

???????????????? ???????? ?????????? ???????????????? ???? ????????????????????????????: ?? ???????? ?????????? TFD Global recently embarked on a consultancy project to integrate sustainability into our systems support modelling. Traditionally, we focus on cost and availability, but have now developed a methodology for adding environmental impact metrics to the equation. In the comparitive study, we assessed the feasibility of replacing a fleet of Avgas fuelled lightweight aircraft with zero-emissions alternatives. Crucially, we did not just analyse emissions at the point of use, but the entire life cycle of each alternative Energy option, from production to transportation and storage. ?????????? ???????? ?????????? ??????????????????????: Although not Carbon Zero at the point of use, a new, more efficient internal combustion engine (ICE) and a streamlined airframe design resulted in potential for a c.35% cost saving and c.58% reduction in GWP. The study also explored a novel propulsion technology using a chemical reaction to generate electricity, which could offer up to 8 times the range of lithium-ion batteries. This project reinforced that environmental impact is not just about in-flight emissions. Logistics—from production to maintenance—are key factors in the overall sustainability of new technologies. Our modelling approach helps uncover insights into optimising these supply chains to further reduce environmental impact. This holistic approach to life cycle analysis is critical in making informed decisions about future technologies. ???????????????????? ?????? ?????????? ???????? ???? ???????? ????????? ?????????? ???? ????: ??????.????????.???????????????????? ??????????:???????????????@????????.??????

If your Supply, Procurement or Support Organisation does not employ dedicated ???????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????? A ???????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????works by repeatedly asking which part at which location, in turn, offers the ???????? ??????????????????????, where 'best' means the choice that gives the greatest reduction in expected back orders (EBO) compared to the cost of buying and placing the part there. The analysis is re-performed,?after each time an additonal spare is added to the forecast. This can be 10,000s of calculations, to calculate the optimal spares required for a complex Asset or System. This is why a dedicated tool is needed. ???????????????? ???????? = ?????????????????? ???????????? ????????????????????????. ? ?????? ?????????????????????? ???????? ?????????????? ???????? ?????????????????? ?????????????? ????????????????, ???????????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????????????? ?????????????? ??????????????????. A picture paints a thousand words, but when choosing the right product support modelling and analysis tools, those pictures don't always tell the full story. The world of consultancy, software tools, and service-providers is teeming with eye-catching marketing campaigns, all touting innovative solutions that seem to promise exactly what customers need for effective decision support. ??????????????:?Are we truly making informed choices? Or are we simply being swayed by impressive graphics and glossy sales pitches? It's easy to become distracted by the attractive marketing and sleek visuals that fill our LinkedIn Feeds, especially for Procurement and Commercial Managers under pressure to make the right call. However, this approach often overlooks a crucial voice in the process—the very analysts and modellers who will be using these tools every day. ?????????? ?????????? ?????????? ?????? ?????????????????? ?????? ???????????????? ???????????? ???? ??????? Has a thorough study been conducted to assess the satisfaction levels of current users? Are analysts being consulted before committing to new software licenses? Are renewals made without assessing the evolving needs of the analytical teams? More importantly, is there an awareness of other products on the market, that offer unique capabilities or better align with the needs of the analysts? From conversations with fellow modellers and analysts, it's clear that many feel overlooked in the decision-making process. They often express frustration when purchasing managers sign off on lengthy, expensive contracts for software that ultimately fail to deliver the needed functionality and management information. The result? Ongoing support challenges, inadequate training, and significant skill fade through periods of inactivity. This hampers the ability to leverage the full potential of the analytical process. Worst of all, the solution they end up with may bring discredit on the overall modelling and analysis process and investment. ?????????????????? ?????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????? ????????????????. Procurement decisions should not be made without whole-life support modelling. Engaging with the analysts and modellers that use the software tools, every day, is crucial. After all, these are the individuals who will identify the true value—or lack thereof—of any new solution. By involving them in the process, we can ensure that the tools we invest in genuinely meet their needs, deliver real value, and support the long-term success of the business. So, let’s rebalance the approach. Let’s stop being swayed by seductive marketing and start listening to the experts—the analysts themselves. Only then can we make appropriately informed decisions that benefit both the organisation and the teams on the ground.
