This Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to celebrate our incredible educators who have tirelessly stood up for their students and communities while demonstrating creativity, compassion, and spirit. In a time when they are needed more than ever, we want to celebrate all of our teachers’ victories–big and small. To show our gratitude, we’re sharing valuable resources to support their wellness, financial health, and more. Here’s to our amazing teachers! https://lnkd.in/gspfssm5

关于我们
Since our first cohort of 40 teachers in 2009, Teach for America Twin Cities has worked to transform the educational landscape of the Twin Cities. As of fall 2020, we have trained over 300 teachers serving over 32,000 students. Today we are a network of over 900 corps members and alumni, and countless partners and supporters. So often, education in Minnesota can feel like a tale of two states. While we tout our education system and quality of life as excellent, we face the largest gap in achievement between white students and students of color of any state in America, and the numbers are staggering. Only 60% of students of color in Minnesota will graduate high school within four years. Of those graduates, only 20% will enroll in post-secondary institutions. We at Teach For America Twin Cities know that educational equity will not be achieved in Minnesota without a cross-sector movement of educators, families, leaders, schools, and community partners. We are working towards an ambitious goal - by 2030, twice as many children in communities where we work in Minnesota will reach key educational milestones indicating they are on a path to economic mobility and a future filled with possibility. Join us as we commit to changing the landscape for our kids – bringing in and developing educators and school leaders, creating a new, more affordable pathway to teacher certification, and connecting our network to the expansive work of other educational leaders in the Twin Cities.
