As Australians we are so lucky to enjoy world class food and natural fibres grown right here in Australia. That is with thanks to Aussie farmers and producers who work hard to put food on our tables and are often at the start of the journey from paddock to plate.? ? Today, on National Ag Day, we acknowledge the cattle producers with whom we partner. They protect and nurture the land, farm for the future, are the backbone of regional communities, and are passionate about animal welfare. With their dedication, Aussie Beef has an unmatched reputation on the world stage. Grow you Good Thing!!? ? #AGDAYAU?

We are so fortunate that Australia has an enviable reputation for food safety. This project has been a collaboration of government and industry to connect and analyse data to support digital safety food assurances – so that we can all benefit from the continued enhancement of Australia’s reputation for food safety and quality around the world. #CSIRO
Taking Australia’s agrifood products to the world. ?? Our digital ecosystem for food safety compliance aims to enhance Australia’s strong reputation for food quality and safety. It’s also helping producers to promptly respond to food safety risks. We were delighted to see this innovation highlighted as part of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry's launch of the National Agricultural Traceability Strategy: Implementation Plan 2023 to 2028 today at the Health and Food Sciences Precinct at Coopers Plains. Thank you to Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Anthony Chisholm, and our partners Teys Australia Australian Meat Processor Corporation, Meat & Livestock Australia and Australian Country Choice for joining us. CHARLTON FEEDLOT R&D TRIAL? ? Teys is fortunate to have committed team members working across the business – passionate people like Sam Gladman from our Charlton feedlot, who work hard to improve our operations and the industry overall.? ? Sam has been the Feedlot representative running the on-site components of a twelve-month trial for automated induction crush for cattle entering feedlots, with the trial involving 100 head per month, over the year.? ? The MLA Grainfed Levy R&D trial, based at Teys Charlton, was a test run for the application of an automated induction crush in the feedlot environment, with the objective of utilising an automated catching function for feedlot cattle induction to reduce labour required and maintain or improve animal welfare standards throughout.? ? Also integral to the trial project were the TePari (www.tepari.com) team who designed and engineered the crush equipment, and Melbourne University’s Daniel Brookes, who observed and monitored animal welfare for the project.? ? ??It's World Iron Awareness Week this week (14th?- 20th?of October) - where we all highlight?the importance of adequate iron intake and its impact on global health, and the role of meat in a healthy diet. Iron deficiency remains one of the most prevalent and critical nutritional challenges worldwide, affecting millions of people, particularly in low and middle-income countries. Red meat, such as beef, is an excellent source of haem iron, which is the most easily absorbed form of iron by the human body. Haem iron is essential to produce haemoglobin, the protein responsible for carrying oxygen in the blood. Consuming red meat as part of a balanced diet can help address iron deficiency and contribute to overall improved health and well-being. That’s why Teys beef production, this week and every week is all about feeding people and enriching lives.
