We're proud to continue our mission of providing innovative healthcare coverage for Texas businesses, employees, and families by expanding our reach into El Paso. November is National Diabetes Month, a time when communities and the American Diabetes Association seek to raise awareness of diabetes and recognize all the mothers, fathers, friends, and children who live every day with diabetes. Earlier in October our Texicare team had the opportunity to attend the Lubbock Area United Way Impact Luncheon with our parent company, Texas Mutual Insurance Company, and our agency partner, Hotchkiss Insurance. The United Way works with local organizations to provide Lubbock with resources and support through events like the Impact Luncheon. Our team was proud to attend with Texas Mutual and Hotchkiss Insurance to further our mission of keeping Texans and their families healthy. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and at Texicare we want to encourage women to proactively manage their health and get breast cancer screenings annually. Early detection through screenings such as mammograms and MRIs allow for effective treatment and significantly improved rates of survival. For most women, screening is recommended starting at age 40. At Texicare, we align with ACA requirements, which means on our plans, screenings are covered for women 40-74 years old.
