?? New From The Texas Heart Institute Journal A recent study explores the prevalence of cardiometabolic risk factors among women enrolled in the Houston HeartReach health screening registry. The analysis examined traditional (clinical) and nontraditional (socioeconomic) factors, shedding light on the critical role of nontraditional risk factors in assessing cardiovascular disease risk. The findings suggest that incorporating more social determinants of health in future analyses could offer a more comprehensive view of cardiometabolic health. We are excited to hear about the 35-year-old North Carolina teacher who is healthier today after the BiVACOR Total Artificial Heart (TAH) kept him alive until he was able to receive a heart transplant. The patient was the second to receive the BiVACOR device after the first implantation at The Texas Heart Institute this past summer. ? “This is a testament to the effectiveness of this device and our unwavering commitment to advancing life-saving treatments for patients battling heart failure and highlights the power of innovation and the impact it can have on saving lives,” said Joseph G.
