We thank all of our legal aid organization hosts for their time, expertise and commitment to the law students who participated in this year’s Pro Bono Spring Break program. So incredibly proud of each of you!
Working to end the justice gap by connecting low income clients who cannot afford an attorney with volunteer attorneys
One of my favorite things I get to do in the pro bono space is hosting current law students during Pro Bono Spring Break, sponsored by the Texas Access to Justice Commission. This year, Lone Star Legal Aid hosted four amazing students. We try our best to give a snippet of legal aid life in one week. This year, the students assisted with preparing documents for two pro se divorces, assisted with executing estate planning documents, conducted research, and and attended two community outreaches. They provided great insight into our procedures and the research they conducted, and I know I learned quite a bit from them. I hope that I did the same for them. I look forward to seeing what they do next!
