Thank you to Cornerstone Crossroads Academy and the volunteers who supported the South Dallas Greening Initiative tree planting last weekend! Together we helped homeowners receive 34 trees, and volunteers planted 20 trees for residents' front yards in Wheatley Place and surrounding South Dallas neighborhoods. These trees will help create a greener, cleaner, and healthier neighborhood. In its continued pursuit of excellence, the Texas Trees Foundation is excited to announce the addition of our new grants manager, Iesha Perkins, who will be responsible for the administration and management of our public-sector grants. Iesha is a licensed CPA with a decade of experience serving financial institutions in both the public and private sectors. We’re looking forward to seeing how Iesha’s expertise supports cultivating enriched outside spaces for the enjoyment and health of all.

The Texas Trees Foundation is excited to announce that it’s taking a big step forward in its pursuit of being the leading voice in urban forestry and holistic environmental outcomes. Stephanie Butts has joined our team as the new Director of Communications and Community Engagement. In this role, Stephanie will develop and lead Texas Trees’ strategic communications spanning marketing, messaging, media relations, and community engagement. Stephanie brings with her more than a decade of strategic communications experience and a passion for seeing Dallas become a thriving green oasis that supports and enriches human health.

Dallas ISD students and Energy Transfer volunteers enjoyed an event-filled day planting 60 trees at Ben Milam Elementary School.
