Improving the Health of Rural Texans Since 1984
关于我们
Since 1984, the Texas Rural Health Association has been a cornerstone for rural Texans, serving as the state association advocating for quality health care in rural Texas. The foundation of the Association was built by community members collaborating with a shared vision. The Association is powered and driven by our comprehensive board and diverse membership network of organizations – health professionals, health profession students, educational institutions, provider groups, community-based organizations, businesses, policymakers and government leaders – all committed to working together to strengthen and sustain the rural health care system in Texas. We aim to be a unifying voice for rural communities by bringing together the existing initiatives and by providing a collaborative forum to exchange ideas to maximize opportunities for improvement.

Governor’s Proclamation: Rural Health Day in Texas is Official! We are thrilled to announce that Governor Greg Abbott has officially proclaimed November 21st as Rural Health Day in Texas! This milestone reflects the dedication and collaborative efforts of rural health advocates and champions across the state and nation. As part of a nationwide initiative to secure proclamations in all 50 states, TRHA worked in partnership with the National Rural Health Association, the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH), and the Texas Department of Agriculture’s State Office of Rural Health (SORH). Together, we are amplifying the voices of rural communities and raising awareness of the critical importance of equitable healthcare access. This proclamation is more than a recognition—it’s a celebration of rural healthcare providers and organizations and a reminder of the work still to be done to support rural communities. Together, we harness the power of rural and make a lasting difference for Texas. #PowerofRural#TexasRuralHealth #NationalRuralHealthDay #TexasRuralHealthDay Official Press Release and Texas Rural Health Day Proclamation attached.
