The UT Law SALDF Chapter is 1/2 mile from the Texas Capitol and I was thrilled to present on how to effectively advocate for common sense animal bills. Partnering with ALDF and their law student (SALDF) chapters help give more animals a voice while they practice their advocacy skills - a win-win for all parties involved!

In addition to continuing research and providing resources, the Texas Humane Network has worked to create written resources and assign speakers for Texas agencies and organizations that need more information about The LINK and how to stop the cycle of abuse in their communities. The National Link Coalition’s mission is to facilitate the North Texas area’s recognition and understanding of the dynamic connection between animal abuse and the cycle of family and societal violence. The North Texas LINK Coalition also provides online resources, training, and networking events across the DFW area. In this "Introduction to the Link in Texas" webinar, special guest Felicia Kerney, former Chief of the Community Prosecution Unit, Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, will be discussing the Link and understanding of the dynamic connection between animal abuse and the cycle of family and societal violence while looking at real Texas cases.
