Texas Health Institute partnered with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center to evaluate the impact of the Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) Prevention Program over the past ten years. This collaboration has provided valuable insights into the program's effectiveness in reducing cancer incidence and mortality, while also identifying areas for improvement to reduce disparities and enhance health outcomes. We’re proud to share that our executive director, Ankit Sanghavi, MPH, BDS, was a presenter at the 2025 ADEA Annual Session and Exhibition. His session, Centering Communities and Their Agency: Grassroots Path to Social Change, highlighted the power of grassroots advocacy in driving social change. Ankit joined a panel of advocacy leaders who shared their experiences and insights on mobilizing communities for change, navigating local and global challenges, and offering strategies for student leaders to lead impactful advocacy efforts. We are so proud of Cody Price, MPH for presenting at the 2025 AIDPH Colloquium today! Cody provided insights on the power of community-engaged research to build trust and strengthen relationships. He shared how innovative methods like PhotoVoice and Pláticas, used in the 2024 Community Voices project with St. David's Foundation are helping to engage youth and move beyond traditional focus groups.
