Texas Health Action is urging the Texas Legislature to remove prior authorizations for PrEP—because HIV prevention can’t wait. In 2022, Texas reported nearly 5,000 new HIV cases, and without action, that number could rise by 8,000 in the next two years. HB 1680 & SB 1274 would eliminate prior authorizations for PrEP, making it more accessible to those who need it most.
