Our first post about the San Antonio Spurs' new training facility got so much attention that we just have to share even more pictures! Well deserved recognition for Michelle and Texas A&M Forest Service. TFA has such great partners and young leaders involved like Michelle!
Michelle Moore, Staff Forester in Hudson, received the coveted bronze Smokey Bear award in D.C. today! Michelle was honored for the Introduction to Fire Prevention resources she created after seeing a need for accessible fire resources during the 2022 and 2023 fire seasons. She created virtual guides for VFDs, members of the public and new agency employees. After the virtual guide, Michelle also created fire prevention training kits specifically for pet rescue and adoption centers in East Texas that included homeowner prevention, mitigation and evacuation materials, as well as pet-specific evacuation resources.
