TWO WEEKS AGO IN REVIEW! I’ve been remiss in posting so TRYING to catching up! ? Great meeting with the team from Starbucks as they continue to grow in Texas!! And thanks for the coffee and treats! ? It’s great to meet with community partners during the busy legislative session as they come to the Capitol! This week we welcomed Weslaco, my good friends from Caldwell County, and Huntsville! ? Attended the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) Winter Meeting with members of our team and spoke on a panel with Erin Hutchins , Aaron Demerson and Glenn Hamer on our new Economic Development Strategic Plan! Thanks to Chairwoman Angie Chen Button and Rep. Claudia Ordaz for coming and providing a legislative update! As always it’s wonderful to connect with our community partners! We are thrilled to announce that the Seguin Economic Development Corporation has been recognized by the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) with the Economic Excellence Award! This award highlights our commitment to best practices, professional development, and outstanding economic growth efforts in Seguin. Our Executive Director, Josh Schneuker, is out of the office, but we didn’t want to let that stop us from celebrating! Since he couldn’t join us for a photo with the award, we made sure his bobblehead stand-in was ready for duty. (It may not offer strategic leadership, but it does nod in agreement with all our ideas! ??) Our Executive Director, Maureen Hammond, was asked to sit on a panel at the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) Winter Conference. During the conference, Maureen was able to share strategies and processes that led to the successful retention and expansion of Huhtamki’s location in Paris, Texas. Huhtamaki’s project resulted in the Paris EDC receiving the TEDC’s Community Economic Development Award. This award is the highest recognition an EDC in Texas can receive.
