关于我们

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Headquartered in Englewood, Colo., the organization's membership exceeds 364,000 in more than 16,200 clubs in 145 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders. Founded in 1997, Texas Dragon Toastmasters Club has a well-established community presence, particularly in the Asian community. Texas Dragon is committed to providing quality training and excellent programs to help Asian professionals improve their public speaking and leadership skills. Texas Dragon is very unique because the majority of the members are Asians who use English as their second language. We have helped hundreds of professionals become better communicators and leaders. They join to overcome their language and cultural barriers. However, the club always needs American members, especially to learn American culture and slang. It is a great opportunity for us to learn about different cultures and from each other. Our Mission, Vision, and Values Mission We help individuals across the Asian community improve their communication skills and leadership abilities by providing innovative programs in public speaking to meet their needs. Vision Our vision is to be a Toastmasters Distinguished Club that can champion non-native English speakers in public speaking and leadership that is both progressive and sustainable development within the Asian community. Values -Confidence – We influence members to think out of their boundaries in public speaking -Courage – We encompass the courage to shape future leaders -Character – We have the character to focus on the needs of our members -Integrity - We maintain high ethical standards and integrity in everything that we do with transparency in our decisions and actions.

Yesterday, I attended the Texas Dragon Toastmasters Club meeting at The University of Texas at Dallas and had fun. The first time Toastmaster Liping Ma did a fantastic job of organizing a meeting with a great theme, Spring. She even brought tulips to the meeting and made it a great experience. A Toastmasters International club is a supportive and positive community where members are encouraged to learn and grow together. I had a transformative change since I started my journey two and half years ago and I treasure all the best memories from each meeting. I missed some members due to spring break, Nadum Charles, Jade Dong, Yun Liu, and Naveen C.. I shared my contest speech, Life Finds a Way as a Pathway Completion. Thanks to Batuk Bista for giving a thoughtful evaluation. Joseph Delsoin shared his contest speech, Good Wolf and Bad Wolf at the meeting. I represented the Texas Tech Talk Toastmasters Club and won first place in Area 61, and Joseph Delsoin won first place in Area 65. We will compete at the Town North Division level on April 5th, 2025.
