We want to take the time to congratulate the newest 101 Texas Highway Patrol Troopers! Class A-2024 graduated Friday becoming the 175th class to now hold the honor of wearing the Texas Tan. These men and women will be serving across the state of Texas and starting their new careers next month. This is a great accomplishment and TXDSPCU couldn’t be prouder of their dedication! Every year the Texas Department of Public Safety has recruits go through the DPS Academy to become Texas Troopers. These recruits intensively train physically and mentally for weeks to accomplish their goals. Yesterday, recruits had their award ceremony, and we had the honor of awarding five recruits some very special awards. Congratulations to John Moore for receiving the Major James O. Ratliff Outstanding Performance Award, Philip Allen for receiving the Norman Zator Academic Excellence Award, Marius Pusar for receiving the Mark Jeffrey Phebus Leadership Award, Eric Jones for receiving the Men’s Distinguished Fitness Award, and to Megann Ruiz for receiving the Female’s Distinguished Fitness Award. Yesterday we had the opportunity to educate recruit Class A-2024 on Texas DPS Credit Union and how we started our roots serving DPS employees, their families, and the community. As recruits at the DPS Academy, they are eligible to join the #creditunionfamily. Tomorrow recruit Class A-2024 will be graduating and becoming official Texas State Troopers, no matter where they end up in Texas, they will always have access to TXDPSCU. Finding a financial institution that can serve them won’t be another thing they will need to worry about as they make this great dedication to the state of Texas.
