On Tuesday, students and staff took part in a special topping off ceremony for the new La Marque High School, leaving their mark—literally! ?????? Everyone had the chance to sign the final beam before it was raised and secured into place. This beam, filled with names and messages, will be permanently displayed in an upstairs mechanical room, serving as a lasting reminder of this milestone moment for generations to come. Giles Middle School is home to many talented students, but today we’re shining the spotlight on someone who goes above and beyond to make a difference both on and off the stage — Romeo Fuentes! ???? As a dedicated member of the theater department, Romeo has become a true leader and mentor. Not only does he deliver stellar performances but he also fosters a supportive and collaborative environment for his peers. His vision, guidance and willingness to help others make him an invaluable part of our school’s artistic community. But Romeo’s talents don’t stop at the theater! He’s also an enthusiastic cheerleader, bringing energy and positivity to the sidelines and uplifting both his teammates and the entire school with his contagious school spirit. ?? On top of all that, Romeo excels as a dedicated athlete, balancing his time between sports, theater and cheerleading with incredible skill and discipline. His work ethic and determination inspire everyone around him to strive for excellence, whether on the field, stage or court. ???Middle School Band Collaboration!??? Last week, the?Blocker and Giles Middle School Bands?came together for an exciting collaboration rehearsal! Each band performed for the other, and directors shared encouragement and praise for their talented students.??????? Students also had the chance to connect with their fellow musicians from the other campus, introducing themselves and bonding over their shared love of music.
