We believe in the power of giving back and making a positive impact where we live and work. Recently, our dedicated employees volunteered at the new food pantry in Sweeny, Texas. They worked tirelessly to stock the pantry and distribute essential items to those in need. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to supporting and uplifting our communities. By coming together, we can create meaningful change and ensure that everyone has access to the everyday essentials they need. ??

Creating a globally competitive environment for the chemical industry in Texas.
关于我们
Texas Chemistry Council (TCC) is a statewide trade association of chemical manufacturing facilities in Texas. TCC represents 70 member companies who operate over 200 manufacturing and research facilities across the state. Organized in 1953, TCC was the first state trade association in the U.S. to represent the interests of the petrochemical industry. The primary concern then was to present a unified position on state tax policy. As the chemical industry grew in size and importance in Texas, TCC expanded its representation of the chemical industry on other important issues including environmental protection, employee and process safety, energy policy, and tort reform. TCC members produce thousands of products that improve the quality of life for billions of people around the world. The Texas chemical industry directly employs more than 75,000 Texans and indirectly generates nearly a half-million Texas jobs. The business and affairs of the Council are managed by a Board of Directors chosen from among TCC member company representatives. TCC maintains a full-time Austin office with a professional staff that work with the Texas Legislature and state agencies, and provides education and professional services to Council members.

This morning I enjoyed the honor of representing #Eastman and the Texas Chemistry Council at the Texas State Capital for Chemistry Day. We met with legislators to thank them for the support they provide to our industry and to reinforce how critical the business of chemistry is to all of our lives and the Texas economy. I serve on the Executive Committee for the Texas Chemistry Council and an annual tradition of the #TCC is to deliver coolers filled with everyday consumer products containing materials made at TCC member facilities in Texas. These products serve as examples of how chemistry impacts everything from healthcare and technology to transportation and home essentials. I also want to recognize Michelle Holyfield and Clent Holmes, II from our #Eastman team. They volunteered their time to help deliver all of the coolers as a part of the TCC Outreach Committee. Our Eastman team never fails to get involved to help make a difference. Lastly, I have to share the highlight of the trip for me was to attend a discussion with Governor Abbott’s Chief of Staff, Robert Black, in the Governor’s Office. We were able to discuss some of the challenges we are facing as an industry and also point out the significant value we bring to the Texas economy. Governor Abbott has not forgotten his roots and is proudly displaying a signed football helmet from the Longview Lobos in his office. During a discussion last year with the Governor, he shared as a youth, he used to attend picnics at Eastman Park at our Longview manufacturing site. #ChemistryDay #TXLege #BusinessOfChemistry #PoweringTexas #LongviewLobos

?? Chemistry Day at the Texas Capitol! ?? Today, TCC and TCA members are meeting with legislators to highlight the essential role the business of chemistry plays in our daily lives and the Texas economy. From the materials that make everyday products possible to the jobs that keep our communities thriving, chemistry is at the heart of innovation and progress. A key part of Chemistry Day is delivering coolers filled with everyday consumer products—each containing materials made at TCC member facilities right here in Texas. These products serve as a powerful reminder of how chemistry impacts everything from healthcare and technology to transportation and home essentials. The coolers and all the products inside were generously donated by our member companies, showcasing their commitment to educating policymakers about the industry’s vital contributions. None of this would be possible without our incredible volunteers, who helped pack and deliver the coolers to legislators’ offices. Their dedication ensures that lawmakers see firsthand the real-world impact of our industry on the lives of Texans. We kicked off the day with a breakfast briefing on key legislative issues impacting the industry, followed by meetings with lawmakers to advocate for policies that support growth, sustainability, and safety. A big thank you to our volunteers for their hard work and to our member companies for their generous contributions in making Chemistry Day a success! #ChemistryDay #TXLege #BusinessOfChemistry #PoweringTexas
