Texas Brine is a family-owned business based in Houston, with a proud heritage in salt-related businesses since 1926. Texas Brine helped pioneer the commercial production of brine through solution mining in Texas salt domes, developing its first well in 1946, and co-founded the Solution Mining Research Institute to promote understanding and expertise in the evolving field. The cornerstone of Texas Brine is customer commitment - from operating customer-owned assets to developing and owning greenfield sites dedicated to a customer's plant. As an independent company, we focus on the needs of our customers. With an emphasis on quick response and empowered knowledgeable employees, we are proud of our long history of providing safe and reliable brine supply. Solution mining is a method of extracting valuable minerals from underground deposits using a liquid solvent, typically water or another chemical solution. Instead of physically digging or blasting to access the minerals, this process involves injecting the solvent into the ground to dissolve the minerals in place. Once dissolved, the mineral-rich solution is pumped back to the surface, where the minerals are separated from the liquid and processed. Contrats to our colleagues who put safety first with continuous training!
Our EHS team recently held an Electrical Team Workshop focused on safety and collaboration. Day one included an NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace training to update everyone on the latest electrical standards. On day two their discussions included Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout, Tagout, Try), insights from the NFPA 70E training, contractor risk assessment, and considerations for overhead crane lifts. This open format encouraged team-wide input. There was representation from electricians, EHS, operations, pipeline technicians, and executives. With 286 years of combined electrical experience, the workshop was a great opportunity to share knowledge and strengthen team bonds.
