Texans on Mission has an incredible opportunity to serve those in need through a partnership with the Emergency Volunteers Project (EVP) in Israel. As you know, disasters can strike without warning, and in times of crisis, our mission is to provide help, hope and healing. Through this partnership, we have established mobile kitchens capable of serving thousands of meals a day in the event of a major disaster. In such situations, while the military may close borders for security, our TXM volunteers will have immediate access to provide vital support. This is a unique chance to shine the light of Christ in Israel and make a meaningful impact. Together, we can be beacons of hope for those in need. Past and present sewing saints reunited at Mt. Lebanon Camp in Cedar Hill, Texas, to create quilts and hats for Texans on Mission’s annual Christmas in the Valley effort. These ladies are so talented and such a treat to be around. We can’t help but admire the work they are doing for those in need. Every donated piece of fabric is sewn into something special, then donated again. Planning next steps can be one of the hardest things to do after disaster strikes, but Texans on Mission volunteers are helping change that. Since 1967, TXM volunteers have helped those in need in the middle of crisis. How do they do this? They meet people where they are to provide relief and share God's love. This relief looks like serving meals; providing access to showers and laundry; repairing homes impacted by fires and floods; removing debris and fallen and damaged trees through chainsaw relief; and praying and encouraging survivors. Every pair of hands working to provide help, hope and healing in Christ's name helps someone move forward. Last weekend, over 300 people came together for worship, fellowship and fun at Campout and Missions Mania. This was all made possible by your gifts to the Mary Hill Davis Offering for Texas Missions. Texans on Mission Camp Builders are at Mt. Lebanon Camp, one of the largest Christian camps in Texas, doing what they do best. It’s the Builders’ second year at this camp, and Mt. Lebanon Camp Director Eddie Walker said these projects have been transformational for the campus. The team is building an office, bathroom and kitchenette addition, updating a warehouse for future deliveries, and replacing windows all while cleaning up electrical. Kingdom work comes in many different forms. We always look forward to catching up with TXM volunteers helping places like Mt. Texans on Mission volunteers are helping pick up the pieces left by destructive tornadoes in Choctaw, Oklahoma. The streets of this Oklahoma town are devastating, but many are not without hope. Residents and volunteers have come together to start recovering. “The homeowners all have the same kinds of stories about not having any time to shelter,” said Jim Scroggin, team lead for the Denton Baptist Association TXM Chainsaw Team. "They know each other and help each other." “They’ve already started the healing process, and we’re just so glad that we’re a part of that process,” Jim said. There is a lot of work to do here, but TXM chainsaw teams are helping get the job done.
