Congratulations to Colorado State University and the CSU Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering on the groundbreaking of the new state-of-the-art ATLAS* Laser Facility. ATLAS will house the nation's top laser research aimed at creating sustainable and reliable fusion energy. Set to come online in mid-2026, the facility is the result of 40 years of laser development research at CSU in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy’s, Fusion Energy Sciences program in the Office of Science and a strategic $150 million public-private partnership with industry leader Marvel Fusion. Research will include laser-driven fusion as a viable clean energy source. This 213,000 square foot new building will establish a new benchmark for veterinary medical care and education. It will be the start of a new era for Veterinary Medicine. The state-of-the-art facility will more than double the footprint of the current clinical and teaching components, empowering CSU as they train highly skilled, job-ready veterinarians.
