We often think of large healthcare systems as the go-to option, but when we discovered and truly understood Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), it just made so much more sense for us! DMI is doing something that the big systems haven’t fully adopted yet—but it actually works for families. Beyond that, the dedication and motivation of DMI therapists to improve session after session is simply incredible! We’re constantly amazed by these therapists and the impact they create. I am truly honored to collaborate with specialists in DMI—an innovative therapy that helps children with neurological and motor challenges build strength, coordination, and independence. DMI therapists share so much in common with Testa-Seat—innovation, a commitment to real-world impact, and the drive to improve children's outcomes. By working closely with them, we’re exposed to a wider variety of children and needs, allowing us to refine our seating solutions to provide optimal posture, stability, and engagement—both inside and outside of therapy sessions. Explore the Exhibit For many, a chair is just a chair. But for children with disabilities, a chair can be the key to independence, confidence, and freedom. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that Testa Seat is now part of the "How People Make Things" exhibit at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh—a space dedicated to showcasing innovation, craftsmanship, and the power of human creativity in shaping the world around us. This exhibit, inspired by Mister Rogers’ Factory Tours, highlights the journey of making—from raw materials to finished products—helping children and families discover how everyday objects come to life. And now, among the carefully curated innovations, stands Testa Seat, a symbol of what happens when technology, empathy, and purpose-driven design intersect. From a Need to a Movement Testa Seat was born out of a simple yet urgent need: to make adaptive seating more accessible, customizable, and affordable for children with disabilities. Traditional solutions were either too expensive, too bulky, or simply didn’t meet the real-life needs of families. We saw an opportunity to reimagine the way assistive seating is made—not through mass production, but through precision 3D printing, smart customization, and deep collaboration with therapists and families. Now, being part of this exhibit is more than just a milestone for us—it’s a testament to the power of inclusive design and the belief that making things should be about making life better.
