Innovation - Finding ways of matching technology and innovation with purpose ??
This was my first time at #2024TEF and the conference has given me so much food for thought that I will be sharing in the next days when I have time to let the insights sink in. For now, I will say that there is a lot of anxiety and excitement at equal parts, I felt. Why? Because of uncertainty, which is such a human emotion to feel in the face of change. Uncertainty comes from not knowing what will it happen to you. Will you have a future? And what will that future look like? Will you be happier or less satisfied with this future? Uncertainty is even worse when change is not managed properly, which I think is the case in our industry, specially in the era of AI, when changes are being implemented too quickly without properly aligning all stakeholders in the industry. Fortunately, there are lights in the road of uncertainty. Shiny stars who want to bring some clarity and support people in the best possible way to shape a better future. It is easy to become cynical but it takes courage to see through the trees and envision a hopeful future for our industry. I choose to be optimistic. Is there a future for our industry and professionals? Yes. Will it be different? Yes. How different? We don't know yet, but it is up to us to shape the future we want to see.
