Websites are usually collecting data behind the scenes. It's not like website owners are right-clicking data and saving it to their computer as soon as they spot it on their website like some kind of IP-Easter-Egg hunt. But, because data is collected automatically by several different tools and third-parties, website owners might mistake their inactivity as a sign that they aren't collecting any user data. Most of the time, this isn't true.

Maine and Massachusetts join a handful of other states to announce new privacy bills in 2025. We will monitor these bills and, if passed, we will automatically update our customers' policies (if needed).
