Last week, I was honored to present a keynote address at the "Advancing the Field of Data Science in Early Childhood Years" event organized by GBH and TERC. During my speech, I emphasized the importance of self-awareness, social awareness, and responsible decision-making in data science for young learners. The event gathered a diverse community of passionate individuals committed to collaboration, inquiry, and advocating for what is best for students and families. Reflecting on the experience, I am thankful for the engaging discussions and connections made. Each interaction was a clear reminder of my path's alignment and purpose. Gratitude fills me and continues to move me forward.

I am honored to have spent today as an invited advisor at GBH and TERC’s NSF-funded “Advancing the Field of Data Science in Early Childhood Years” Workshop with other academic, education, and industry leaders in the field. I am especially touched to return to GBH in person, as 12 years ago, I first entered the doors as an aspiring intern as a Harvard Graduate School of Education master's student who was just discovering com as a field. I landed a coveted internship that spring semester with Mary Haggerty and another that summer with Jillian Orr. Now I get to work alongside them and others, in no small part thanks to Jillian Orr who saw my name on a list of potential advisors a couple years ago and said something like: “Oh AnneMarie! I remember her from when she was an intern.” ??So touched to come full circle, and always inspired by the people who make good content, programs, and education for kids and their families! #childrensmedia #kidsentertainment
