This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the power of sport to inspire confidence, leadership, and success - on and off the court! ? For the first time in over five years, four Aussie players have cracked the WTA top 100. Kimberly Birrell (76), Maya Joint (85), Ajla Tomljanovi? (94), and Olivia Gadecki (99) are leading the charge, with a wave of talent right behind them. We know what’s possible when girls stay in the game! ? Yet, half of Australian teenage girls stop playing sport by 17, even though most say it makes them feel more confident. That’s why Tennis Australia is on a mission to Reshape the Game - creating opportunities for more girls to thrive in sport and beyond. ? Together, we can empower the next generation to aim higher, dream bigger, and achieve more. Let’s partner to make a lasting impact. ? At this year’s Australian Open, the ninth edition of the AO Inspirational Series was an unforgettable celebration of strength, resilience, and the extraordinary achievements of women. Former Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki headlined the event, sharing insights from her illustrious career, her public battle with rheumatoid arthritis, and her journey into motherhood. She was joined by the incredible Sophie Delizio, whose story of triumph over adversity deeply moved us all. Sophie shared powerful lessons from her journey, reminding us of the extraordinary strength of the human spirit and how life’s challenges can be transformed into opportunities for growth. This year’s series also marked a special milestone, the 50th anniversary of Evonne Goolagong Cawley’s second Australian Open title. Her legacy in tennis and her tireless efforts to advance equality in our sport continue to inspire generations. The AO Inspirational Series remains a powerful platform for amplifying the voices of remarkable women shaping our world, and it was the perfect way to celebrate Women and Girls Day at the AO. #AO25 #AusOpen #AOInspirationalSeries #WD2025 #MarchForward #Inclusion #Equity #WORK180WORK180

"Use your voice, create space, and lift others up" It was an absolute privilege to hear from Australian Olympic champion and trailblazing Indigenous athlete, Catherine Freeman OAM, at our Tennis Together International Women’s Day lunch in collaboration with Melbourne Park this week. A champion both on and off the track, Catherine shared her story of resilience, leadership, and the power of sport in creating equality.?Speaking with Casey Dellacqua OLY, she reflected on how every woman’s success in sport is built on the battles fought before her and how we all have a role to play in lifting each other up. Her challenge to us? “Ask yourself, what can you do to support women?” A huge thank you to Catherine for her inspiration, authenticity, and unwavering advocacy for change. #IWD2025 #MarchForward #TennisTogether #Equality #Inclusion #CathyFreeman #UNWomen?WORK180 ??Bailey Hargrove

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Fred Stolle AO, an iconic figure in Australian tennis and on the international stage. “Fiery”, as he was fondly known, amassed 10 major titles in doubles, seven in mixed and two in singles, at the French and US Championships, earning him the No.1 ranking in 1966. When we speak about Australia’s golden era and the progression from amateur to professional, Stolle’s name is right up there with the best. A star member of Australia’s Davis Cup team, Fred made significant contributions to the sport following his decorated career as a coach and astute commentator. His legacy is one of excellence, dedication, and a profound love for tennis. His impact on the sport will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege to witness his contributions. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Fred's family and friends during this sad time.
