The Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council (TAEBC) champions advanced energy as a job creation and economic development strategy. We educate public officials and business leaders about Tennessee’s advanced energy assets, establish strategic partnerships to connect assets with opportunities, and inform policy that expands and strengthens the industry. TAEBC seeks to understand the advanced energy sector’s priorities (users of advanced energy, manufacturers, installers and service providers), share information about the value of this sector with public and private sector leaders, and develop programs that connect and leverage our state’s assets with opportunities to promote Tennessee’s advanced energy economy. We ultimately seek to turn corporate interest in sustainability into Tennessee jobs. TAEBC is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Updated with new stats from the 2021 report, the 2024 report quantifies Tennessee’s advanced energy economic impact and identifies: ?? Number of jobs ? ?? Major wins for Tennessee! ?? The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced $70.8 million to support partnerships with state and local governments to support small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) in key sectors such as automotive, battery recycling, and smart manufacturing. Tennessee is a proud recipient of awards under three impactful initiatives: ?? $5.5M was awarded to the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to upgrade auto facilities, strengthen electric, hybrid, and fuel cell vehicle supply chains, and retain good paying jobs! ?? The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation was selected to make battery recycling more accessible for consumers, reducing waste and improving the nation’s battery recycling landscape. ?? The Tennessee Partnership for Smart Manufacturing was selected to receive funds to expand access to emerging technologies that increase efficiency and reduce costs for manufacturers. Bill Lee’s Tennessee Nuclear Energy Advisory Council has released its Final Report, showcasing Tennessee’s leadership in nuclear energy and its critical role in providing carbon-free, reliable power. Key highlights include: ?? The Tennessee Valley Authority is positioned to lead the nation with the first grid-connected SMR, a game-changer for clean energy and national security ?? Over 230 nuclear companies call Tennessee home. The Council recommends strengthening incentives to attract even more businesses ?? We’re thrilled to share that the Tennessee Valley Authority awarded the first-ever $10,000 Spark Award to AluminAiry, a graduate of the Spark Cleantech Accelerator. ?? AluminAiry’s innovative aluminum-air battery system caught TVA’s attention with its clean electricity generation potential, lack of reliance on rare earth elements, and ability to enhance grid resiliency. This award reflects TVA’s commitment to fostering breakthrough technologies that align with the future needs of our energy ecosystem. This expansion supports efforts to restore America’s uranium enrichment capacity, reduce reliance on foreign sources, and secure a reliable fuel supply for current and next-gen reactors. "This investment jump-starts what we hope will be a multi-billion-dollar commitment to reestablishing America’s uranium enrichment capacity — deploying American technology, built by American workers, supported by an American supply chain,” says Centrus CEO Amir Vexler.
