Today our President , Caleb Powell, PEM and Executive Director, Amber Greene presented Decaturville Elementary School a $1,500 grant from the Tennessee Recycling Coalition (TRC) to support its recycling efforts. This grant will provide much-needed recycling bins throughout its campus, furthering its commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability. The new recycling bins will directly benefit DES's Environmental Club, helping alleviate some of the club's resource needs while providing students with valuable hands-on learning opportunities. Mrs. Christee Pettigrew, Environmental Club organizer, expressed her excitement, stating: "We are so grateful to have been chosen and to begin a partnership with the Tennessee Recycling Coalition. These bins will be a wonderful learning tool and a fantastic addition to our school." We look forward to seeing this initiative's positive impact on the students and community. ???? #RecyclingMatters #EnvironmentalEducation #SustainabilityInAction

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Honoring Service and Leadership Today, we observe several significant milestones: the continued tribute to our nation's 39th president with flags at half-staff, the time-honored peaceful transition of power through the inauguration of the president-elect, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Together, these moments remind us of the enduring importance of service to our nation and our communities. As we reflect on Dr. King’s legacy, his timeless words resonate deeply: "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." This MLK Jr. Day, let us honor his vision by embracing the spirit of service, compassion, and unity he championed. Through small acts of kindness and collective efforts, we can continue to make a meaningful impact on the communities and missions that matter most. Thank you for all that you do and let us carry this spirit forward together.
