The construction industry faces the second-highest suicide rate of all other industries. Construction workers—men in particular—are committing suicide at a rate that's 75% higher than the general population, according to the CDC. It's a profession that is both physically and mentally demanding, and it's facing a crisis. At Tenna, we work to maintain the safety of crews on the road and in the field but are very aware of the gap that needs to be filled when it comes to protecting workers mentally. During Construction Suicide Prevention Week, we'd like to draw attention to this crisis and to the Construction Suicide Prevention organization, which offers resources to help employers support mental wellness among their workers.
