Thank you for an amazing year! ?? Three hundred sixty-seven days ago, I left the company I cofounded and led as its CEO for over 12 years. I worked with outstanding people inside and outside our organization, formed great relationships, partnerships, and friendships, invested in and exited several companies, and built a thriving business. My role was not just about leading a business but understanding the unique needs of multi- and single-course owners and operators. I was dedicated to developing solutions to make their businesses more efficient and successful. However, to truly meet their needs, I realized the importance of controlling the core golf management software they relied on, such as tee sheet, point of sale, booking engine, and integrated payments. So that I could deliver on my mission of providing the best software and hardware solutions to course owners and operators, I left the company I co-founded and joined Jarrette Schule, the founder and developer of TenFore Golf, who shared my vision of delivering world-class technology solutions to the golf industry. Is credit card surcharging right for you? Though surcharging is becoming more widely used, many golf courses accept processing costs as a part of doing business and build the cost into their pricing. Some cannot offer it based on their ownership or location, and some want to provide it, but they worry about compliance and how customers react. A growing number of golf courses have decided to pass some processing costs on to customers to offset rising costs in other areas and keep more of every dollar earned. This leads to larger bank deposits. Automated surcharging technology is helping golf course owners decide to add surcharging as it removes most compliance concerns and provides comfort in knowing that laws are being followed. How it Works Automated surcharging technology automatically assesses each transaction to determine its eligibility for applying a credit card surcharge based on the following factors: - The type of card presented - The cardholder's postal code (card-not-present only) If the technology determines that the card used is not a credit card (for example, a debit card) or that the postal code associated with the account is a surcharge-restricted location, then the surcharge is waived. Otherwise, a surcharge is automatically added to the subtotal amount. The integrated terminals display surcharging disclosures and optional itemized amount details to the cardholder. Receipts automatically include the required disclaimers and tips, and refund processing is built in. The golf course must display the appropriate signage, which will be provided, explaining the surcharge to customers at all transaction points, including the beverage cart. For example, a business processing $1,000,000 by cards annually, with a blended processing rate of 2.8% and 50% of cards presented being surchargeable, could save $14,000 annually. Savings can be higher or lower based on the types of cards presented for payment, processing rates, chargebacks, fees, and adjustments. Pro Tip: Have your golf course business mix analyzed to determine what your actual savings would be. Whether you want to pass some of your processing costs to your customers or not, always ensure your processing rate is fair and comparable to others in the market. Just a small reduction in your processing rate can save your business money.

TenFore Golf seeks a Customer Success Manager to manage a client base of multi-course and independent golf course owners and operators. The successful candidate will work closely with golf course clients to provide support, training, onboarding, and business solutions. A positive attitude and a willingness to help our clients when needed are a must. Our ideal candidate is a member of the PGA of America with experience working at a golf course, as nothing can replace the experience of having a full pro shop on a Saturday morning, picking the range when someone couldn't show up to work, ensuring carts are charged, people are checked in, computer systems are up and running, etc. This experience is invaluable when working with golf course clients as you will have experienced what it takes to run a golf course?and the importance of your golf software helping alleviate some of the workload. Previous experience working for a golf management software company is a plus?but not required, as we have an excellent training program, and you will already be familiar with the software at your golf course.
