In honor of School Social Worker Week, we are celebrating the incredible social work team who dedicate their time to make Tempe Elementary Schools a better place for students and families. These amazing individuals support students and families in a variety of ways, including connecting them with community resources and ensuring they have the tools they need to be successful in the classroom and beyond. In celebration of Tempe Elementary Schools' 150th school year, we're spotlighting some of our incredible staff members who got their start right here in the district in our 🔹Tempe Elementary Homecoming🔹 series. Meet Michelle Bloom, 5th grade teacher at Broadmor Elementary School who also attended Wood, Fuller, and Fees! 🗣️ In her words: "From attending Wood and Fuller, then Fees when it first opened, each school played a significant role in shaping my path. The unwavering support from Broadmor families and the larger Tempe Elementary community is unparalleled. Despite the long commute of driving almost 60 miles daily, the exceptional district and school environment make it all worth it. Teaching elsewhere is unimaginable, for there truly is no place like Tempe Elementary Schools!" It's never too early to dream about the future and the Construction Club at Fees College Preparatory Middle School is allowing students to do just that. 👷 During the 6-week program led by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., students learn trade skills in a hands-on format from industry professionals as they explore potential careers in construction. 🛠️ Skills covered include framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall repairs, and more. A special thanks to McCarthy for helping equip our students to be future-ready and explore meaningful opportunities.

Congratulations to ASPIRE Academy at Connolly ELA Teacher ✨ Kelsey Garner ✨ for being the newest Tempe Elementary Schools staff member to earn their National Board Certification. In addition to Garner's new certification, Connolly Middle School ELD Teacher ✨ Heather Roberts ✨ completed the requirements to maintain her certification. Twenty years ago, after student teaching with Tempe Elementary, Kelly McClory began her career teaching 1st through 4th grade. A former Tempe Elementary Schools student herself, Kelly's dedication led her to become an English Language Coach, supporting schools across the district, and later a Teacher on Special Assignment, partnering with school administrators to boost student success. Today, Kelly works at the district level as a Digital Innovator, empowering teachers and developing curriculum that impacts every classroom.
