I had the pleasure of attending FYUZ24 recently, where I had the honour of moderating the panel, “How Cloud & AI will accelerate Open RAN”, alongside esteemed top industry leaders Kaniz Mahdi, Satish Sharma and Jefferson Wang. ???? During the panel, we explored the mid- to long-term benefits of cloudification and AI; highlighting how they drive improved agility and flexibility to adapt swiftly to customer demands and network load requirements. A great example is the partnership between Dish and AWS, which demonstrates that O-RAN is not just a concept but a reality today. When it comes to priorities, security stands out as a top concern. Additionally, as is often the case with disaggregated, cloud-native solutions, addressing the industry’s skills shortage remains a crucial challenge to overcome. At the NGMN Alliance, following our "Cloud Native Manifesto" and other important publications for download here https://shorturl.at/JZCoA, we continue to focus on requirements related to: Cloud Native Assessment Methodologies Network Simplification Sustainability Future networks beyond 5G-> 6G Looking ahead, it’s safe to assume that tomorrow’s networks will be software-driven, cloud native and laser-focused on meeting end-user demands, improving operational efficiency, and contributing to sustainability objectives. ?? Exciting times for the industry! Let’s keep collaborating and innovating for a connected future.” Congrats to our colleagues from TIP to another successful FYUZ event!
