Fine-tuning an AI model isn't the best way to tailor LLMs...??? #telecomhall_fun
AI Lead at BASICO | Podcast Host: The Only Constant | Digital Thought Leader | Public Speaker | IT Strategy | Intelligent Automation
Fine-tuning an AI model isn't the best way to tailor LLMs... ?? When it comes to making an AI model work for your specific needs, there are three effective approaches: 1?? ?????????????? Provide the language model with pre-defined information and instructions that makes it always respond the same way. 2?? ?????? Use code to fetch information from external sources - like auto-indexed PDFs or even web lookups. This in principle is a dynamic expansion of 1, Context, by enabling the AI model to know more than it knows. 3?? ???????????????????? '????????????????' More than just info and raw data, AI models require instructions. By chaining together models you can add logical steps that utilize 1, Context, and 2, RAG, in sequence. This enables the AI to both know more and know it better through specialized role orchestration. The common thread? ?? Work with the P in GPT - Pretrained. You need to test if the models have a previous, pretrained understanding of your use case to make them productive. Once that’s clear, you can layer your data onto their foundational knowledge. You might have a lot of data, but you do not have enough to fine tune a GPT-4 size model. Work with the P ?? #ai #technology #chatgpt #generativeai ???#Connect?or?#Follow?for a mix of serious insights and lighthearted humor about everything IT and business. ?? Oracle Cloud ?? Amazon Web Services (AWS) ?? ORACLE x Microsoft Azure ?? #telecomhall_fun
3 of the 5 largest providers, together... hand in hand? ?? Oracle seals partnerships with Azure and AWS. For what exactly? Let's take a closer look. ?? Oracle Cloud x Amazon Web Services (AWS) ?? Oracle is preparing its entry into the cloud leader's platform by making its databases and Exadata directly accessible in AWS. Note that the service will be more widely deployed in 2025. The promises? Optimized connection between Oracle databases and AWS applications, simplified billing via AWS Marketplace, and most importantly, native integration with AWS analytics and AI services, notably Bedrock. No more juggling between different platforms! On the other side. ?? ORACLE x Microsoft Azure ?? The partnership with Microsoft is already well-established. Oracle database services run directly in Azure datacenters, offering minimal latency and deep integration with Microsoft services, notably Azure OpenAI. ??What's the common thread between these two alliances? A desire to simplify business operations with unified support and a seamless experience. Oracle recognizes that multicloud has become the norm and is adapting to customer needs. ?? The feedback would be positive ?? Major groups welcome these initiatives that allow them to deploy their strategic workloads more efficiently. Is #multicloud becoming... simple? ??

Exploring the Logical Structure of the RRU (Remote Radio Unit) Laden Ahmed Aljaafari
?? Exploring the Logical Structure of the RRU (Remote Radio Unit) ?? ?? Remote Radio Units (RRUs) play a crucial role in modern wireless communication systems. Let's dive into the logical structure of an RRU to understand its key components and functions. ? ? High-Speed Interface Unit: - Facilitates data exchange with the Baseband Unit (BBU). - Transfers data between cascaded RRUs using CPRI ports. - Ensures smooth coordination and seamless integration within the network. ? Signal Processing Unit: ??? Uplink Receive Channel: - Performs down-conversion to convert received signals into intermediate frequency analog signals. - Converts analog signals to digital using an ADC. - Processes intermediate frequency digital signals with filtering and gain control. ??? Downlink Transmit Channel: - Separates clock, control, and data signals from the BBU. - Combines and filters multiple routes of downlink signals. - Converts digital signals to analog using a DAC. - Up-converts RF signals to transmit frequency bands. ??? Control Module: - Manages RRU configurations and software. - Collects alarms and reports board status. - Executes configuration commands from the BBU. - Handles RRU operation and maintenance. ? PA (Power Amplifier): - Amplifies power of multi-carrier and low-power RF signals. - Ensures signal strength and quality for optimal performance. ? LNA (Low Noise Amplifier): - Performs low-noise amplification on received signals. - Enhances system sensitivity and minimizes signal degradation. ? Duplexer and Dual Duplexer: - Multiplexes signals on RF channels transmission and reception signals. - Filters and separates transmitted and received signals. By doing so, they enable the use of the same antenna for transmission and reception. Laden Al Jaafari Understanding the logical structure of RRUs gives us a deeper appreciation for the intricate processes involved in wireless communication systems. These units work harmoniously to ensure reliable connectivity and efficient signal handling. Laden Ahmed Aljaafari #2g #3g #4g #5g #ran #telecommunications #WirelessCommunication #RRU #Networking

6G Geopolitical Split Will Help No One
6G Geopolitical Split Will Help No One In the 1990s, the mobile industry was divided between GSM and CDMA. This split caused higher costs, delayed innovation, and slowed global mobile adoption by almost a decade. Devices were incompatible across regions, networks couldn’t interoperate, and progress was fragmented. Now, as we look toward 6G, we risk repeating history—but the stakes are much higher. Today, 8.5 billion users and 20 billion IoT devices rely on a global, standardized ecosystem. Yet, growing geopolitical tensions could lead to a Western vs. Eastern split. What makes wireless networks so unique is that they are the only technology where the entire world has come together to create the largest and most ubiquitous system in human history. Through global standardization, we’ve built something extraordinary: a network that connects nearly every person and machine on Earth, at unparalleled scale and affordability. This collaboration has driven innovation, reduced costs, and bridged the digital divide in ways no other technology has achieved. A geopolitical split in 6G would jeopardize this progress by: 1. Fragment networks and make them region-specific. 2. Increase costs for manufacturers, operators, and consumers. 3. Slow innovation and disrupt global connectivity. The lesson from the GSM/CDMA era is clear: fragmentation helps no one. Standardization has enabled seamless, scalable, and affordable networks, driving decades of progress. A unified global standard for 6G isn’t just preferable—it’s essential for the future of connectivity. Let’s ensure 6G continues to connect the world, not divide it.

Good insight on AT&T's decision to phase out NB-IoT. Benoist Sébire
AT&T has announced its decision to phase out NB-IoT. The challenge with 3GPP's approach to defining limited-capability devices lies in the method of altering an existing design by removing or altering functions, with the hope of producing a more affordable version in the future. A bit like attempting to create an appealing small tree by cutting branches off a large one. A more effective strategy would be a modular design, where a shared foundation is built with cost-effective devices in mind, and where advanced capabilities are achieved by adding modules.
