TEK Collaborative is honored to be one of the 36 amazing community-based organizations to receive a grant from the City of Boston’s 2023-24 Digital Equity Fund, a crucial step towards bridging the digital divide throughout the city. Our mission is to empower individuals by providing the tools they need to succeed in today’s technology-driven world. This funding not only supports our current initiatives but also allows us to expand our outreach, helping even more individuals and families gain access to the devices they require for education, health, employment, and personal growth. With the backing of the City of Boston, we are committed to help foster a more equitable digital environment for all residents. As part of Digital Inclusion Week 2024, TEK Collaborative is partnering with Link Health for Enroll Boston 2024, a city-wide Day of Action happening tomorrow Friday, October 11th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Join us at NeighborHealth South End (1601 Washington St, Boston, MA 02118) and NeighborHealth East Boston (20 Maverick Square, Boston, MA 02128) where we will be distributing Chromebooks to individuals enrolling in the Lifeline and other vital public benefit programs through Link Health.(Chromebooks available while supplies last!) What is the Lifeline Program? The Lifeline Program provides a monthly discount on mobile and broadband internet services for eligible low-income households. This initiative plays a crucial role in bridging the digital divide by ensuring affordable internet access. We were lucky enough to participate in Enroll Boston 2023 along with Link Heath where CBS Boston featured TEK Collaborative in a newscast. Check out the Video below! We received a last minute request from our friend Brittany Johnson. Her mother, Holly and brother , Ryan were set to travel to the Dominican Republic. Holly is a volunteer and her passion is working in the schools in the DR volunteering. We sent some Chromebooks with Holly and Ryan to distribute when visiting the schools. Holly does amazing work for the children of the Dominican Republic, and we are thrilled to help support her work. Each device they distribute carries with it unimaginable possibilities for each recipient. Thank Holly and Ryan for allowing TEK to be a part of your journey.
