When Lucy Thompson's auntie shared that following breast cancer surgery she had been left traumatised by attempts to tattoo new nipples onto her reconstructed breasts, Lucy was devastated. A tattoo artist herself, Lucy became the UKs first tattoo artist to offer specialist paramedical 3D nipple tattoos for people who have had breast reconstruction following cancer treatment. She uses her specialist skills as an artist, and compassion as a relative and friend to support her clients in their full recovery from cancer. When Molly Fenton BCAh was in school the leaflets were removed from her box of tampons in case the boys got hold of them. With potential of negative hygiene practice, infections and even toxic shock syndrome Molly argues that the health of the girl should be prioritised over the potential pornographic exposure from anatomical drawings. If we shame and oversexualise periods, we rob girls and women from the opportunity to know their bodies, to know what is normal and what is not. We all exist in family trees. There are the roots which carry our DNA and where we find ourselves in the world, the leaves are the burdens which we inherit from our elders, and the fruits are the gifts which they also hand down to us.
