A global network of trailblazers, changing the world.
关于我们
The TED Fellows Program recognizes the folks working on-the-ground on world-changing ideas. To support their work, the program offers them TED’s power to articulate and amplify their vision. A world-changing idea is central to the selection of a Fellow, but our support goes deeper on the personal level. The TED Fellows program supports the individual capacity-building required to take the global stage. We equip TED Fellows with public speaking and media training, professional coaching, educational programming and peer support. We connect TED Fellows to a global network of peers and industry leaders because the only way to succeed is together.

One of the most powerful aspects of the TED Fellowship: TED Fellows! We love all the ways TED Fellows generously support one another and shine a light on each other's work. If you want to go far, go together.

???Selfie Spotlights: Faces Behind the Impact ?? This time, I’m honored to showcase a remarkable duo transforming lives and landscapes: Royal Ramey and Brandon Smith In the heart of California’s wildfire crisis, Royal and Brandon emerged from extraordinary circumstances to lead a movement of resilience and renewal. Their journey began in California’s Conservation Camps, where they trained as incarcerated firefighters, risking their lives to battle blazes. Yet, when their sentences ended, they found the path to professional firefighting closed. Refusing to accept this injustice, they co-founded the The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program (FFRP) in 2015. FFRP equips formerly incarcerated individuals with training, support, and pathways to careers in firefighting. Since its inception, they’ve impacted over 3,000 lives, helped over 110 graduates secure firefighting jobs, and even launched the Buffalo Fire Crew, a private team of FFRP alumni now protecting communities across the state. But FFRP is more than a career pipeline, it’s a lifeline. It addresses critical workforce gaps, reduces recidivism, and offers a second chance to those ready to serve their communities. Through their work, Royal and Brandon have redefined redemption, turning challenges into opportunities and barriers into bridges. When I met Royal and Brandon, I was touched by their authenticity and unrelenting commitment to their mission. Royal’s words still resonate with me: “It’s hard work.” It is not just the firefighting but also?the fight to ensure that those willing to rebuild their lives are allowed to do so. Royal and Brandon, thank you for leading with courage, compassion, and conviction. The world is better because of you. #FacesBehindTheImpact

Thank you for the vital work you and your colleagues at The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program are doing Royal Ramey.
CEO of Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program | 2024 TED Fellow | 2023 Obama Leader | 2022 James Irvine Leadership Award I Breaking barriers in the fire service for underrepresented communities
Thanks to Victor Blackwell from CNN for having me on this morning to talk about the incarcerated firefighters battling the L.A. fires, including several The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program grads. We are so incredibly proud and appreciative of you. Every single one of the 1,000 incarcerated firefighters working on these fires deserve a job once they're home. And that's exactly why The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program exists - to recruit, train, help folks get a job and mentor them throughout their careers. We need your help to make that happen. If you’re taking time off for the winter holidays, we hope you’ll give yourself the gift of listening to some of the TED Fellows interviews featured on TED Talks Daily with Elise Hu. Here’s one to check out – TED Fellow and renewable energy expert Norah Magero envisions an Africa that pioneers its own technological future, shifting the narrative from dependence and consumption to self-reliance and innovation. She shares how she developed VacciBox with Drop Access Limited — a solar-powered refrigeration system made in Kenya to keep vaccines cold in off-grid areas — and highlights the power of homegrown solutions to transform health care. Stay tuned for a conversation at the end with TED Fellows director Lily James Olds. We hope Norah’s vision helps refill your energetic tank as we round out this year. Happy Holidays! https://lnkd.in/ehzU3a8r

We’re excited to highlight a few of the extraordinary leaders in this TED Fellows community ?? who are making a powerful impact around the world. ?? But instead of telling you about their work, we thought we’d show you how they do it. Specifically, how they get ready for the day in a way that’s both nourishing and productive. Because let’s be honest—who doesn’t love a glimpse into someone’s morning routine? ? ? ?? We hope you feel as inspired as we do reading about these CEOs and changemakers. Looks like maybe we should be getting up earlier.... ?? Zubaida Bai Farwiza Farhan Andrew Bastawrous Kotchakorn Voraakhom Jane Marie Chen Enzo Romero ?? In building and mobilizing networks, I have the privilege of connecting with incredible people around the world… many I wish more people knew about! While I enjoy making one-on-one connections, I’m still figuring out how to not be a bottleneck. So, experimenting with an ongoing hype list —a way to spotlight inspiring leaders I’ve recently connected with. Curious to see where this goes... Reach out directly and tag others who come to mind. Happy connecting! ? Ana Fontes - an advocate for economic resiliency, Ana runs Rede Mulher Empreendedora, a support network of (100k!) women entrepreneurs in Brazil. This week, Ana is presenting W20 Engagement Group recommendations during G20. (Kelly, Pat, Nick) ? jac sm kee - co-founder of Numun Fund, a global movement and the first fund to seed and resource feminist tech. Inspired by how this collective embodies practices to imagine more inclusive futures and shift power. (Susan, Francoise, Alix)? ? Lily James Olds - leading a new impactful chapter of the TED Fellows Program, bringing in new partners and opening up collaborative pathways. Beautiful to see Lily’s strategic and artistic superpowers weave together. (Adama, Isabel, Anna) ? Martin Tan- behind The Majurity Trust, a fascinating local model of collaborative philanthropy, participatory funding decision making and portfolio partnership in Singapore. (Marina, Renee, Lior)
