Taking it back to this lobby wall art installation. We wanted to create a bold, welcoming lobby wall that would grab people’s attention the second they walked in and also tie into the biotech vibe of the company. The idea was simple: use stacked materials, then mill through them to expose hidden layers, adding depth and texture that creates cool, unique patterns. We got the inspiration from “big data,” which became the base of the design. As the patterns grew, so did the intensity of the textures. The whole point was to make a strong statement and tell a story visually. Excited to share our process for creating files for digital fabrication! For the sconces at the Emerald restaurant, we started with 1/2” aluminum. Using Rhino 8?McNeel Europe?, we clearly defined our layers before exporting to VCarve?@vectricltd?for tool path simulation and calculations for our?ShopSabre CNC Working with aluminum is unique—unlike wood or plastic, it requires a coolant mister to manage heat and prevent tool wear. This ensures smooth chip removal and a high-quality finish. We used an?@amanatool?3/8” upcut O flute for precision. The results? Beautifully machined aluminum frames with varying sizes and depths, perfectly finished after powder coating to complete the sconces! ???Jennifer Siegwart

This project not only involved custom casework but also a number of intricate details, from unique branding elements to the impressive challenge of crafting a giant door. Excited to share our latest restaurant project inspired by the Legend of the Koi Dragon. We crafted custom finishes and unique details, including eye-catching ceiling elements, light fixtures, and furniture. This was no small task-we tackled everything from technical design and budget estimation to project management and custom fabrication. Using tough materials like powder-coated steel, aluminum, Chemetal, walnut, and brass, we pulled this off in just three months while keeping the kitchen running! Navigating a high-security facility that never closes added to the challenge, but our team absolutely nailed it.
