This week, employees from Tecton participated in the concluding presentation for the team they have been guiding through the ACE Mentor Program of Connecticut. This initiative connects high school students with industry professionals to motivate them to explore careers in architecture, construction management, and engineering. ? The Hartford Team 3 showcased their project titled "Emergency Shelter," aimed at assisting men, women, and children in transitioning from homelessness to stable housing by providing a dignified, safe, and clean environment. Their design encompassed not only the building itself but also the surrounding site, ensuring a secure atmosphere that integrated architectural and landscape planning, as well as structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and construction elements. Congratulations to Team 3 for their outstanding presentation, which highlighted their commitment and expertise in architecture, engineering, and construction. Tecton is dedicated to nurturing the future of the industry through the ACE program, supporting the development of the next generation of designers, engineers and managers. Special thanks are extended to the mentor firms that collaborated with us, including Covenant Shelter of New London, Hallam-ICS, Szewczak, Kilty & Fluhr Structural Engineers, P.C., Fuss & O'Neill, and The Associated Construction Company. #ACEMentor #FutureArchitects #DesigningChange #STEMEducation #AECIndustry

Exciting news for Cheshire, CT! On December 16th, O&G kicked-off construction on two new elementary schools with official groundbreaking ceremonies. The $90 million north-end school, the largest project the town has ever seen, will sit on a 44-acre parcel and welcome 700 students. With features like a rustic exterior, specialized rooms for art and music, and a community-accessible gym, it's set to be a hub of learning and community activity. ? Norton Elementary is getting a $76 million upgrade, designed to complement its natural surroundings. Both schools will focus on environmental sustainability with hybrid geothermal systems and plans for solar panels. Both projects aim to be completed by fall 2026 and will cater to the town's expanding community. Can't wait to see these schools in action! Tecton Architects Cheshire Public Schools
