The recently concluded Apeldoorn 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships marked a pivotal step in European Athletics’ digital evolution, showcasing some groundbreaking initiatives: 1. Live Results Platform For the first time, European Athletics launched its own Live Results Platform, conceptualised, designed and developed in less than five months. For European Athletics, the day-to-day management was helmed by Pablo Trescoli, supported by Nicolas Launois, Mirko Jalava, Markus Knipp and Vinay Mhetre. Delivery partners included: TEC: Results Engine, APIs, back-end, and website integration. Sportz Interactive: Front-end design and development. Swiss Timing Ltd: Timing/scoring/results feeds. World Athletics: Historical data APIs. Outcomes: 100% uptime,?3.5M+ page views, and?almost 4x user growth?vs. EICH 2023. The scalable platform, which can also be licensed as a white-label solution, will ensure real-time results for all future European Athletics competition. 2. Mobile App (Beta Launch) The?first-ever European Athletics app?(Android/iOS), developed in less than 3 months, debuted at Apeldoorn 2025, delivering live results to fans. App development was led by Sportz Interactive, with results back-end by TEC. Guided by Alessio Gorla, Pablo Trescoli, Nicolas Launois, Markus Knipp, and Vinay Mhetre—with Sachin Mehrish’s strategic input—the app’s future roadmap includes: - Live streaming/blog integration - Historical data, calendar & results and detailed athlete statistics - Gamification, data visualization, personalized content and more 3. Remote Content Production Partnering with?ScorePlay (supported by Sportz Interactive), European Athletics streamlined remote video/photo production and distribution workflows - automating ingestion, tagging and content editing - during Apeldoorn 2025.?Managed by Peter Sanderson, Michael Lawrence & team at Chimney Stack, who supported our on-ground photographers and content creators, we were able to significantly amplify the content output across platforms during Apeldoorn 2025, helping us provide more content to our fans, member federations and athletes, with an optimized time-to-market. Thank you also to Devon Schuler for his valuable help in the setup of the content production and distribution processes. It has been a personal and professional highlight for me to lead the overall delivery of these projects for European Athletics. However, this would not have been possible without the endless support of the European Athletics leadership team, who have, over the last two years, sanctioned multiple investments in technology upgrade and onboarding of the right delivery partners. This investment is now starting to bear fruit. Thank you for your support Christian Milz, Marcel Wakim and Vadim Nigmatov. ? Lastly, but most importantly, huge thanks to all my colleagues and the entire team at European Athletics for delivering the most successful European Athletics Indoor Championships ever. Onwards and upwards!
