Alissa Livingston from Saks shared knowledge about business financial strategy, e-commerce, and the digital landscape in the fashion industry. Frantz Cayo shared the experience he has in media consultation and worked through advertising solutions with Sydney Pennington and Freddy Cruz In Silicon Valley ?? We we’re fortunate enough to be join by dabbL’s very own Sirisha Kaipa, Founder & CTO, and Madhu Vohra , Co-Founder & CEO. Their vision and support for #WomenInTech inspired conversation from the vision of an AI-Powered future by empowering high schoolers to hyper-personalized learning. Yesterday, I finally made it to my first TechWalk, and it was such a great time! A huge thank you to my friends Hritika and Rashmi for giving me a ride to the event—it made my day! I’ve been wanting to join TechWalk for a while, but getting to Shoreline Lake without a car was tricky. Even though I’ve lived in Mountain View since 2017, this was my first visit to the lake, and it was stunning, especially as we began our walk just before sunset. I met so many amazing people, and I loved how the walk was set up so we could take turns chatting with different folks during the 2-mile route. Thank you to Rupa Bhagwat and Markus Pesonen for hosting such a wonderful event. It was a fantastic way to build connections and appreciate the beauty of Shoreline Lake at sunset. This experience is definitely one for the books! I hope to join another TechWalk in the future. I almost died in my own bed from COVID three years ago. [A very legit wanna know how I got these (purple) scars? moment.] It took two long, humbling years to learn how to walk and drive again -- two years of carpooling with my brother, two years of asking my coworkers to walk with me to get lunch because I was afraid of busting my face on the sidewalk from vertigo -- every day some horrible test between what my brain wanted to do and what my body could do. I went from boxing and hiking to barely being able to stand still and upright. -- Last week, I joined my first TechWalk co-hosted by Lauren Sawyer ?? and Amanda Coronado, where the weather finally felt like (late) autumn in NY. What would've felt impossible a couple of years back was the most fun I had on a Friday morning in a while. I ran into Sarah Cundiff, MBA ‐ a fun sequel moment after meeting @ Playground ‐ where we chatted about Europe plans she should absolutely jump on (hit her up for all of your B2B needs). I rotated through a few conversations with Anish Kanthamneni, Michael Nwaka, MBA, Samantha Himmel, Jie Zhu, Alexandra DaSilva, Freddy Cruz, Dawn DeCosta, and others, breezing through everything from Anthropologie recs to creator monetization against the gorgeous backdrop that is Central Park. What I love about TechWalk is that there's a real genuineness baked into the soul of it where typical networking events usually miss the mark. Instead of racing to see who can collect contacts the fastest or being plastered against the wall of a noisy party, there's an ease to being in nature and a very lovingly crafted spirit of mutual aid. Like I told Christine Farrier Rosemin yesterday: You leave a little high on possibility. -- It's Friday, and if you've made it down to this unusually scattered and personal lore-revealing post, the point is this: ?? We get through the hard things with the community around us. ?? Taking the chance to meet someone new is always worth it. ?? Most of your problems can be solved by touching (actual) grass.
