One of the perks I've most appreciated through work or health insurance coverage has been either free or subsidized gym membership coverage. Anybody else remember submitting those gym visit files each quarter? Of late, it's been really interesting to watch the evolution of workplace benefits expand to cover things like therapy, coaching, nutrition, and even services like IVF and egg-freezing. As the scope of AI increases, it's no surprise that new companies are emerging to offer wellness solutions at scale. Had a fantastic time co-hosting last week's Marketing Leadership TechWalk in beautiful Central Park here in NYC! I want to extend a huge thank you to my co-hosts Bridget Heaton and Richard C., as well as all the amazing individuals who joined us for a lovely walk and engaging conversations on a sunny morning last Friday. It was truly a pleasure to meet and connect with each attendee. Special appreciation goes out to Ben Bartolone for his exceptional role as our Central Park walk "Cruise Director," always ensuring everyone feels included and has the opportunity to mingle. And of course Christine Farrier Rosemin, who founded TechWalk and has grown it over the last year to other cities beyond NYC. TechWalk continues to be a highlight of my week, bringing together a diverse group of professionals from various tech roles and industry sectors. Can you spot yourself at Sunday’s #TechWalk? The first TechWalk in Central Park this year and my fourth overall. Every time I’m in town, I make it a priority to join - it’s one of the best communities I’ve been part of. Maybe it’s the movement, the fresh air, the way walking shifts our thinking. Unlike traditional networking events, where we often wear our "supersuccessful hustler" masks, TechWalk encourages open, genuine conversations. (Fun fact: Freud was known for his walking meetings!) This time, Ben invited me to share my perspective with the group - thank you for that! And I can repeat it here (without exaggeration) these walks have introduced me not just to professionals who enrich my network, but to truly remarkable human beings, some of whom have become friends. Today, I’m especially grateful for Bridget Heaton and her invaluable insights on building communities. The conversation with Bridget, Mariia Bondarenko, and Bipanchy Kalita revolved around the power of communities and whether or not it's the right choice for every business. I also had the pleasure of meeting Jo?o Ferreira, expanding his footprint in this city while still rooted in Lisbon, and Zach Oberman, an eclectic mind with so much in common. And, of course, connecting with Sofi Lambert, Christy Wedge even before the event started! Once again - great people, great conversations, and a walk that reminds me that the movement is my fuel. A special thank you to Christine for creating this space for exchange.
