Tech Tip of the Week! How aware are you of social engineering? Do you know that it can impact your business? In today's society we are socially engineered to be trusting or assume no ill intent. Bad actors will try to capitalize on this and exploit those who would trust without verifying information. There are four common examples of social engineering attacks including: Phishing: Emails meant to trick users into following malicious links. Pretexting: Bad actors impersonating trusted individuals or someone with authority to gain access to data or sensitive information. Baiting: Offering something of value to convince users to install malware. Tailgating: Getting physical access to a location by following an employee through a secured door. By regularly training your employees to be aware of these kinds of attacks, they will go through necessary verification steps before falling victim. Have diligence, write detailed protocol policies even if they seem like common sense, and regularly cover these policies in training!
