?? The Right Kind of Forum ??
?? Last week, I had the honor of speaking at the 16th annual Global Peter Drucker Forum in Vienna, where the theme was “The Next Knowledge Work: Managing for New Levels of Value Creation and Innovation.” In an era where traditional models struggle to keep up with our complex, systemic and unpredictable existential world, these conversations felt incredibly timely.
?? Drucker’s teachings, particularly around self-awareness, humility, and the receiver’s mind, are more relevant than ever. His work reminds us not to become trapped in our assumptions and that success is often the poorest teacher of innovation.
??? Held in the majestic Hofburg Palace, the event brought together global leaders, thinkers, and innovators from over 70 countries. The discussions were a deep dive into practical strategies for resilience, systems innovation and sustainable value creation. ??
?? It’s not every day that you find yourself surrounded by such a high concentration of truly inspiring, curious minds—learners, leaders, professors, and authors alike, all committed to rethinking how to drive sustainable, transformative change.
?? A Moment of Serendipity. ?? I’ve long admired Amy Edmondson’s work, and anyone with an interest in anticipatory governance and innovative complex problem-solving must read Amy’s books. Her latest, Right Kind of Wrong, is a must for anyone looking to transform their relationship with failure. Serendipity struck when I found my own book, Disrupt With Impact, displayed right next to hers in the bookstore. A true honor!
?? Huge thanks to Richard Straub for inviting me and selecting ‘Disrupt With Impact’ for the prestigious Book’s Corner. Heartfelt gratitude to Franziska Graf for the insightful interview on DruckerTV, to Elena Stelzig for producing such a powerful program, and to the entire team for organizing such an impactful event.
?? I had the privilege of sitting at an amazing table during the Gala Dinner—thanks to Julia Hautz, Aakriti Chandihok, and Pierre Liebenberg for the thoughtful and engaging conversations.
