Throughout the past month, TEC employees have gathered donations to bring to local food pantries near each of our office locations. Today was donation day, and we were once again blown away by the generosity of our team! Pictured below are Erin Calla and Megan Fleming, who initiated this program at TEC six years ago, delivering to the Lazarus House. Thank you to all who contributed!

In late October, TEC welcomed Michael Dube, P.E. back to the team after 10 years. Since 2014, Mike has served clients as a transportation professional navigating the planning, design, and construction of projects ranging in scope, scale, and complexity. He rejoins TEC as an Operations Manager to play a key role in the continued growth and development of the transportation team. Welcome back, Mike!

Earlier this fall, Brenna Heinley, EIT presented TEC’s submission for this year’s Senior Capstone project to the University of New Hampshire senior Civil & Environmental Engineering class. This year’s project is the Lake Winnipesaukee Hotel Development in the Town of Meredith (NH). The project was very popular amongst the students with 50% of the senior class putting in a bid to get on the project team. Five students were selected to our project team including our recent summer intern, Tyler MacLean. The team conducted a site visit to see the site’s location and existing conditions firsthand. We look forward to continuing to work with the team throughout the school year on what is sure to be another successful UNH capstone project. Go Cats!

As we approach Thanksgiving, many of us are sharing what we are thankful for this year. One sentiment we often hear is that we are thankful for good health. Manneury Arias, Transportation Designer with TEC, recently summed up how important it is to have a corporate culture that supports health and well-being - and team members who are there when we need extra assistance. Today and every day, we are thankful for our TEC team!

On World Kindness Day, we’re reminded that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Whether it’s offering a smile, listening with empathy, or simply holding the door, every gesture counts. As an engineering firm, we know that collaboration, respect, and support are the foundation of strong communities—and kindness is key to building those connections. Another great example of the impact of engineering! TEC provided transportation planning and design services to the Town of Wilmington for the adjacent public infrastructure improvements that helped facilitate this and other nearby private investments.

The MBTA Communities Catalyst Fund is a new opportunity that will provide up to $5M in grants for housing and infrastructure projects to communities that are certified as complying with the MBTA Communities Act. Following a fatal pedestrian crash, TEC was retained to support the Town of Andover with an emergency review of intersection safety characteristics at Elm Square. After coordination with Town, State Police, MassDOT, the Merrimack Regional Planning Commission, and a local pedestrian and bicycle advocacy group, TEC published a formal Road Safety Audit (RSA). TEC and Town staff recently facilitated a public meeting to review conceptual design options for longer-term improvements. In our industry, it's critical to be proactive - not just reactive.
