Team leaders: Do you have an actionable plan for boosting team learning in your organization???? While developing employees’ individual skills is essential, it's equally important to recognize that being highly skilled doesn’t necessarily guarantee success in a team environment. A recent research paper by Amy Edmondson and Jean-Fran?ois Harvey reveals the importance of a dynamic approach to team learning. They suggest that instead of learning being perceived as a one-time static event, “team learning involves an integrated and iterative effort of reflecting, gathering knowledge, and taking action in pursuit of a goal over time.” Through careful analysis of empirical evidence, the authors conclude that organizational learning is best accomplished at a team level through meaningful interpersonal interactions—such as discussions, collaborative problem-solving, and joint decision-making. Some days just feel more significant than others. Today is one of those days for me. Today marks the official release of The Performance Culture, my first book, with Chris Weller, published by Wiley. The Performance Culture is available everywhere books and ebooks are sold, and will soon be an audiobook. I've already gotten so many messages from people who pre-ordered and have received their copy. It's the right book to help navigate through these moments, and work at the intersection of people and performance. Get yours today! Today marks the release of the third episode of In This Moment, my limited series podcast with Janet M. Stovall, CDE, where we touch on the workplace and experience for many of those investing their energy to lift up millions of employees around the world. This episode is all about navigating burnout (https://lnkd.in/e5J2YA-n). I'm told with just the first two episode released, we're already breaking into top categories for podcasts. None of this would be possible without you, my tremendous and supportive network. I have benefitted so greatly from the mentorship, guidance, feedback, and nurturing of brilliant and caring people who know how to get things done. As I wrote in the opening of The Performance Culture, "To everyone who has taught, supported, advised, lifted, and cared for me. Your fingerprints are on my life, on my career, and on this book. I know who you are, and you know who you are. Thank you." #ThePerformanceCulture #InThisMoment

Many CHROs are seeking to create high-performance cultures in 2025 - ones that ensure teams can communicate more openly, innovate more boldly, and operate with more accountability. A lot has changed in how we work - and what tactics are genuinely effective to create high-performing teams. At our recent Summit in Cambridge, Massachusetts, we explored six trends of high-performance teams - and how to ensure your organization thrives in 2025. This event included sessions led by: - Anja Svetina Nabergoj (Stanford University)? - Amy Edmondson (Harvard Business School)? - Elaine Lin Hering and Deanna Pantín Parrish (Harvard Law School)? - Bob Sutton (Stanford University)? - Robert "Cujo" Teschner (U.S. Air Force, Ret.)? - Michael McCarroll (Teamraderie) ???? Below is a sample of what was discussed. ???? — Session 1. Psychological Safety and Trust Anja Svetina Nabergoj led several engaging activities, such as sharing personal stories and active listening exercises, to teach the importance of empathy. - Session 2: Cross-Functional Collaboration and Innovation Michael McCarroll Amy Edmondson explored the challenges of cross-functional collaboration, emphasizing that organizations should invest in strategies that enhance collaboration between teams, rather than accept the tradeoff between intra- and inter-team effectiveness. - Session 3: Disagreement and Innovation This session, led by Harvard’s Deanna Parrish and Elaine Lin Hering, highlighted the importance of surfacing disagreement to drive innovation. - Session 4: Prioritize and Simplify Robert Sutton led this session, focusing on combating "addition sickness," which is the tendency to solve problems by adding complexity. - Session 5: Accountability and Ownership Colonel Robert "Cujo" Teschner led this session, sharing the Air Force's approach to accountability, which emphasizes ownership and learning through debriefings. - Session 6: Moving Beyond "Engagement" to Measure High-Performance Amy Edmondson and Michael McCarroll led this session, advocating for going beyond traditional engagement metrics to measure team performance. — Thank you to all who participated in this event! #highperformanceculture #psychologicalsafety #teamraderie #teamperformance #teaming #2025trends
